DmC Devil May Cry

DmC Devil May Cry is a new game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom. The game is released in Jan 2013. According to the wikia, it’s says it’s a reboot version and got no connection to the original series as there’re too much differentations.
The game features a protagonist named Dante, a devil hunter. Well, this Dante is much different from the original series developed by Capcom. There’re side protagonist such as Vergil and Kat. The new Vergil’s personality are much different. Unlike the one in DMC3, he seeks power all the time no matter what. Kat is a supporting character in the game to Dante and Vergil. Trish,Lady and Nero are not present in the game. The main antagonist is Mundus but i never thought that Vergil happens to be the final boss. As i expected , Vergil is pretty strong but Dante still managed to defeat him.
Rebellion and Ebony&Ivory in DmC DMC looks different from the original series. There’s a skull in the original Rebellion. In this game, Dante’s able to use both Angel and Demon mode. And there’s a pulling stuff almost like harpoon which helps you to drag your enemy. That’s help a lot in combination of combos. When Dante activates Devil Trigger, all enemies will be launched into the air (except some enemies and bosses).
This game used Unreal Engine therefore the graphics looks different from the one in DMC3 and DMC4 . The graphics is pretty nice and the gameplay is pretty good too. New styles, new combos, new weapons, new characters, new enemies, etc. NT made a huge change in it.
At the begining, a lot of people (including me) hate the game because NT changed it. I prefer the old looks of Dante and Vergil . The old personality of Vergil suits him better. Dante’s still arrogant as always and that’s suits him well .
When i first play the game, i created a self combo. And then a second one, third one and so on. But i can’t remember much of it, only some. That’s why i got blur sometimes and got hit by the enemies in the game. A self-created combo will help you throughout the game in most enemies except some situation.
As i was a regular player of DMC3 and DMC4, it doesn’t took much time for me to adapt the new combat style in DmC DMC. I got S rank mostly. SSS and SS a little . And also a little A’s. No B,C,D. Hell yeah! And it wasn’t hard for me to get S rank on any level. I only played Devil Hunter mode.
After playing the game, i think this game is pretty good. Not bad at all . Although, there’re no more styles like Trickster, Swordmaster , Royalguard and Gunslinger . These styles only present in DMC3 and DMC4 i think.
Each game series has different styles , system , camera angles and the environment. DMC3′s gameplay area is pretty small and the camera is close . DMC4′s gameplay area is lil bit more bigger than three and the camera is a bit far. And finally for DmC DMC, the area is much larger than the previous two and got a good camera angle. But as a result, they got more stuff to render .
In this game, i use Rebellion and Ebony & Ivory for most of the time. Secondly, i use Osiris (scythe) . Third, Arbiter (Axe). Forth, Aquila . Fifth , Revenant (Shotgun). I rarely use Eryx (Flaming Fists). And i never use Kablooey (gun with explosive darts).
I’ll use Rebellion and E&I for most enemies except element types (Fire & Ice) I’ll use Osiris when there’re a lot of enemy surrounding me , for a air combo and launcing enemy into the air. I’ll use Arbiter for heavy and shielded enemies. Both Aquila and Osiris is good for close range as both of them can slay nearby enemies . There’re only Arbiter and Eryx attacks slowly but huge damage.
My brother asked me which game is better . I said i couldn’t answer him because each series got its’ own style and gameplay. DMC3, DMC4 and DmC Devil May Cry. I like them all . As for combos, i pick DmC DMC because there’re more combos in the game compared to the previous two.
The combat style reminds me of bayonetta but i doesn’t know much about it. Only making combos in the air i can think . People who plays this game may like Chaos Legion and also God of War 3 as well .
Now i’ll differentiate DmC Devil May Cry which the storyline is modified by Ninja Theory with the original DMC series which is developed by Capcom.
First, in DmC DMC Dante and Vergil are Nephilim which is half angel and half demon ; in the original DMC both Dante and Vergil are half human half demon. Secondly, Eva is a angel in DmC DMC but a human in the ori DMC . Thirdly, Eva is killed by Mundus in DmC DMC; Eva is killed by a regular demon (Mundus’s Spawn) in the ori DMC. Forthly, Sparda looks like a old man in DmC DMC ; Sparda is pretty young and wears a single glasses and also wearing his purple suit with Forge Edge on his side. Fifthly, Sparda is defeated by Mundus and imprison forever in DmC DMC ; In the ori DMC series, Sparda defeated Mundus and sealed the hell gate (That’s why he’s known as the legendary dark knight) . And then the amulet is separated into 2 given to Dante and Vergil by Eva . As for his death, it was an unknown. Sixth, both Dante and Vergil memories are erased in DmC DMC ; both Dante and Vergil memories are NOT erased in the ori DMC . Seventh, in DmC DMC only Nephilim can slay the demon king ; Dante (half human half demon) can slay Mundus in DMC1 although he’s not Nephilim. Eigth, Dante wields his sword using left hand in DmC DMC (just like Nero) ; Dante wield Rebellion using his right hand in the original series. And finally, the hair colour of Dante are suppose to be white not black (although i think black looks pretty cool but white colour suits him more)
I saw a few comments on youtube. They says this game is running thru 30 fps unlike dmc3 and dmc4,it’s 60 fps. Therefore, the game will probably runs in a bit slower mode. But i’m not so sure of it. And one more thing, there’s no Turbo mode. Too bad.
Conclusion, not a bad game . A really challenging one because of new style and gameplay.
Still, i prefer the old Dante.

Though I throughly enjoyed most of the DMC games (with the obvious exception of 2) I never participated past easy automatic. Yes I was heinously poor at linking seperate moves together to perform incredible combinations, but it never felt as fluid and as natural. Plus it was damn hard to get an S rank for any level.
The new interpretation, which I’m still yet to play does look great. I think NT have done at brilliant job in transfering the series for a new generation of gamers. Though I still wish he would sort his hair out!
Nice summary of a game I may well purchase now.
Play regularly and make your own combos ,then it won’t be hard for ya thru the whole game. Still, i prefer the original storyline by Capcom and of course the original white hair Dante.
